I was going to title this post “Lola’s Happy Ending” but it’s not the end, but a great beginning for her with her new family.

My sister kept Lola overnight at her house. Lola hung out with my sisters’ three kids, her cat Gimi, and dog Kobe. It looks like Gimi and Kobe were the perfect hosts. Well, kind of. Kobe appears to be ignoring Lola.

I arrived this afternoon to take Lola to her new family. She was behind the sofa so my nephew had to get her. She hopped around then went back. She was afraid of more new people. When I picked her up, she was shaking and tried to get away. I held her close and talked softly to her. She stopped trying to escape and we became fast friends. I didn’t get to spend a lot of time with her, but I did get her straightened out. My sister had timothy hay (food) in the litter pan. Once I cleaned it out and put in cat litter, Lola used the privy right away! Girlfriend was probably holding her pee pee all day!

She and her cage were much bigger than I expected. My husband and brother-in-law had to carry it out and put it into my truck. She didn’t seem upset or anything during the trip and used the bathroom at least three more times before looking around for a while, then stretching herself out to take a nap.

We agreed to meet Lola’s new dad in the parking lot at the mall. This gave me a chance to run into the store to get cat litter, carrots, and romaine lettuce. My husband said she napped for the few minutes I was gone.

Her new dad arrived soon enough, and was concerned that she looked scared. She was still chillin’ and seemed not to mind as her cage, with her in it, was lifted and moved yet again. New dad told us that he has four kids and they didn’t know Lola was coming home with him! What an awesome surprise!

A couple of hours after dropping her off, I received this picture…

I’m so thankful to my husband, sister, brother-in-law, nieces, nephew, Kobe, and Gimi for helping me out. I’m so grateful that Lola has a wonderful, new family. As the rapper Ice Cube said “today was a good day”. 🙂
