A few months ago, I saw a birds nest in a light fixture where I had taken out the glass to put in a sensor for my weather station. I checked on April 26th and there were 3 eggs in there! I was so excited, but I didn’t want to scare mama bird, so I would only peek from afar. She sat there faithfully.

On May 9th, I noticed that mama bird was gone, so I decided to check on the eggs. To my surprise, there were chicks in there! I don’t know when they hatched, but they seemed awfully large to have hatched from such tiny eggs. It couldn’t have been to long before me seeing them, because it looked like there were the remnants from inside the egg.

On May 19th, I didn’t see Mama so I climbed up on my ladder to take a look. Staring back at me was one of the babies! As I raised my phone to take a pic, I discovered that there were two in the nest and they could fly! Below is a lovely picture of the side of the house as I missed a step on the ladder and came down a bit faster than I had planned.

Mama has still been hanging around. On Friday (June 5th) I decided to take a look to see if the nest was empty. I was quite surprised to discover 5 new eggs! I guess she likes her home!
