Lipids are fats – namely the large variety of oils used in cooking and formulating products for the skin. The following is a homework assignment I did for school, comparing the properties of different oils. This was a fun project, although a bit time consuming. I melted all the oils and butters. I tried melting the beeswax without oil, which made it clump. I had to scoop it out, add the apricot kernel oil, then add the beeswax back in….
