Hi All! I’m so sorry I have been MIA for months. Between work, school, my commute, dropping my daughter off at college, and getting my son off to a good start for his senior year, I have been BUSY! This post has been in my head (and heart) for some time. This past summer during one of my classes, I had to good fortune to visit the garden of Dr. James Duke. The leaves on the tree in my backyard have been turning and dropping since late July. I predict an early, very cold winter with some snow.

So much for keeping up with my blog, but I have good reason. I have been extremely busy with work, school, and navigating all the activities associated with my daughter’s senior year in high school. Things have been HECTIC! In addition to college applications, searching for scholarships, and finding, buying, and fitting her prom dress, I volunteered to decorate for prom. At the beginning of March, I was fortunate enough to spend a week in London! I managed to slip…
